The Torah vision and the prophetic hope are only words, only texts, only poetry. That is all. Against that, Pharaoh offers memos and production schedules. In the horizon of Pharaoh, the quintessential consumer, there is no notice of the unproductive, the un-entitled, like widows, orphans and outsiders. All that counts is production; if they do not produce, they do not exist!
